Who We Are and What We Do

We are a group of Registered Midwives providing care to women in Calgary and surrounding areas throughout the childbearing years. We share a common holistic midwifery philosophy and work closely together to ensure personal continuous care to women, their newborns, and their families.

Our experiences are diverse, from nursing backgrounds to midwifery experiences in other countries such as Britain, Australia, and the US.

We strongly believe that parents have the right and responsibility to make informed, intelligent, and sensitive decisions about the manner in which they choose to give birth. We provide the resources to assist families in making these decisions. We are very proud of the care which we have been privileged to provide to hundreds of women.

Cost of Services

Complete midwifery care is presently covered by Alberta Health Services. This care includes prenatal appointments, labour and birth, immediate and ongoing postnatal care of mother and baby, 2 and 6 week office visits, including 24 hour availability for urgent concerns.

Choice of Birth Setting

Midwives are the only care providers that offer choice of birth setting including home, hospital or the Arbour Birth Center.

Breastfeeding Support

We believe nature has perfected human milk for human babies and that breastfeeding is best for babies. With the proper support and guidance, the majority of mothers will be successful with breastfeeding.
